2003-09-17 Builds

  • Fixed: 98533 - use lightweight parser for prefs file instead of javascript parser (3.0% reduction in startup time on tinderbox "Linux redwood dep", 2332ms -> 2261ms)
  • New regression: 219456 - Proxy browsing doesn't work
  • Continued regression: 219150 - If you use a hosts file to block ads, sites with <script src="http://adHost/putAdHere.js"> don't load completely.

Windows builds: Official Windows (Discussion), chocoba65's G7 SSE with DOMi and Venkman

Linux builds: Official Linux, Official Linux+gtk2+xft, Daihard's SSE xft+gtk2, Yek's XFT/GTK2/DOMi/Venkman. O:AthlonXP + SSE, aroben's AthlonXP-only xft+gtk2

    Official Linux+gtk2+xft – Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030917 Firebird/0.6.1+ has a problem with Java in some cases:

    try http://www.correiomanha.pt/ and you have a complete crash with this message:

    INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: JavaPluginInstance5::GetValue – Not implemented
    System error?:: Success

    The Java crash is http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=219705 . The bug mentions the same error message you’re getting (INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: JavaPluginInstance5::GetValue – Not implemented
    System error?:: Success).
