2004-01-15 Trunk builds

  • Fixed on trunk and branch: part of 228672 - "Safe Upgrade" is now called "Clean Install". Also, the description text now includes a stronger warning: "A Clean Install will COMPLETELY REMOVE the contents of the install folder!"
  • Trunk Windows nightlies are back!
  • Fixed on trunk: 135141 - implement CSS 3 indirect adjacent combinator
  • Installer problem: 228672 - Installer deletes any non-Firebird files in the installation directory.

I'm less confident than usual that these builds contain no major regressions. Mozillazine Forums have been down for several hours, so I haven't been able to read the build threads, which are my main sources of reports of new regressions. I also go through newly reported bugs and quickly check the list of regressions with votes, but I'd miss a lot of regressions if that was all I did.

I also don't know who did unofficial builds, except for MozJF.

Windows builds: Official Windows, Official Windows installer

Linux builds: Official Linux, Official Linux+xft+gtk2

Mac builds: Official Mac

I think you might have mixed up the Official Windows and Official Windows installer links…

I’ve reported 2 regressions so far: bugs 231136 and 231144.

These builds are getting better and better every day…wonder when 0.8 will be deemed ready to go? There are still 20 blocking?+ bugs, but most look like they aren’t really necessary. The list hasn’t been pruned recently, either.

Oh, on an unrelated note: nice job, Jesse! Page 66 of the February 3, 2004 PC Magazine (just arrived in my mailbox) – a part of the Solutions section – has a page on bookmarklets. It just so happens that http://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets is specifically mentioned in the article! (I tried to get the article online, but my Internet connection is being fuzzy, so someone else will have to do it.) Great work!

Speaking of PC Magazine I have the January issue where MOzilla Firebird wins 1st place in Softy Awards. I’d scan it but don’t have a scanner and it isn’t completely legal… but since no one can get the text online…

Thanks Tom, I fixed the links.
