Tonight’s
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040212 Firebird/0.8.0+
didn’t crash on startup like the one for Feb. 10th did for me.
Javascript problem — the recommended test page: http://www.bodo.com/javame.htm
still makes a Javascript banner that persists through any and all tabs once opened.
This is with no extensions, starting from a fresh profile, though copying over bookmarks, cookies, etc. but nothing carried over from chrome folder.
I haven’t figured out bug reporting formally yet, well enough to know if this is known already. ?

Did anyone else try the latest FirefoxSetup.exe (2004-02-12 or 13, ftp’d from http://ftp.oregonstate.edu 30 minutes ago) ? It crashes at the very startup with me (XP SP1), even with a new profile.

Jean-Marc, I got the same thing with aebramin’s 20040212 ‘nightly-like’ build.

Thanks. Feel free to “Bugzilla” it if you’ve the time.
(I lost my Bugzilla password, a password bound to a free mail provider down since last week.)

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040213 Firebird/0.8.0+
after a while, with several tabs open, changing tabs:
Path: /Users/hank/Applications/Firefox/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin
Version: @0.8.0+@ (@0.8.0+@)
PID: 347
Thread: 0
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000014
Thread 0 Crashed:
—> Is this covered in bugzilla, can anyone say? I’m still rather baffled by that system.

The XML parsing error was already reported in bug 234223.

Bill, thank you for the reference. It won’t help the installer’s reputation … :-/

Quick request, Jesse: as there’s no branch right now can we switch back to just posting as “2004-02-13 builds”, eliminating the Trunk part? It cuts down very slightly on the clutter.

Jeff: I was planning on doing that in the next few days.

I’m not sure if there is just a difference in names, or if the Burningedge 2-12 Mac OSX version is a day older than the one at the official link?
Respectively they are:
Latest link shown here at Burningedge is:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2004-02-12-09-trunk/Firefox-mac.dmg.gz
But when I look at the official source,
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/ contains:
Firefox-mac.dmg.gz 13-Feb-2004 06:44
