Bug 245327:
Fix checked in to AVIARY_1_0_20040515_BRANCH, 2004-07-22 12:45 -0700.
Theme switching should work in tomorrows builds!
BTW: Todays build is really great, the Find Toolbar is now finally working. :-)

Hmm, 8 fixes (!) for FAYT and trim_on_minimize working again. Yes, I think I’ll get this one too. :-)
If this goes on, you’ll need safety belts for the speed the great developers are moving to 1.0. :-D

Does anyone know the whereabouts of Pierre Chanial ? He didn’t do any visible (at least for me) work in Firefox for months now.

what exactly does that config_trim_on_minimize do? never used it myself
im guessing it releases mextra resources (i.e. memory) when the browser is minimised?

As I understood from skimming the bug:
When config_trim_on_minimize is true and Firefox is minimzed, Firefox tells Windows “I’m minimized, so if another program needs memory, swap out my memory first.”
It’s true by default, and the bug was that setting it to false wasn’t working.

Regarding trim_on_minimize:
Yeah, that’s what it does (Fx just consumes around 1 MB when I have it minimized as opposed to around 20-50).
It might not be too obvious why you might want to *not* do this (let it optimize its memory usage), but a problem can occur if you care more for minimal delays from restoring Firefox and switching tabs, than about used memory. It’s particularly frustrating if you work with several apps at once, where some requires a lot of memory, but you know you’ll often use Firefox too. Then you might get a lot of swap-in/out annoyances as you switch to/from Firefox.

The latest builds are extremely exciting! I can’t wait to see 1.0 get out of the door. All the bugs that have annoyed me for ages have been fixed the last few days, and I’m considering upgrading from 0.9.2 to nightlies even though it’ll break some extensions (ieview particularily, unfortunately), that’s how great this stuff is!
Did I mention I’d like to sleep with whoever thought of livemarks?

Break ieview?
I use 20040722 Firefox/0.9.1+ (MOOX-AV) and have no Problems with ieview. Never detected a Problem with my Extensions using the nightlies of the last days…
Have ieview 0.81 Maybe try to reinstall it? – Or even try with a clean Profile.

Hey… All my extensions keep working with the latest nightlies! Did something change in the way Firefox handles extensions somewhere between today and 0.9.x?
When I used nightlies from a few weeks ago, it kept saying ieview and others weren’t supported by the latest version of Firefox blah blah…
Whoever changed this, I thank him as well!
