2004-10-26 Branch late builds
- Fixed: 265532 - Missing Plugin placeholders missing from various pages.
- Fixed: 265790 - Security: "Force links ... to open in a new tab" can let a tab close the whole browser window.
- Fixed: Change internal version number to 0.11 so update system will be able to tell RC1 users to upgrade to 1.0 when 1.0 comes out.
- Fixed: Change UA version number to 1.0RC1.
- Since Oct 26 late: 266221 - Profile migration is broken.
- Since Oct 26: 263844 - Window.close() not working on new windows opened into tabs.
These builds are almost release candidates, but they need a fix for bug 266221 first.

I have the impression that the developers are more and more tempted to fix some bugs with band-aids in order to meet *their* deadline, rather than correctly fixing them. I fear that they are setting some time bombs for Firefox 2.0 .

I have seen nothing to indicate this.
Are you referring to anything in particular, or just a gut feeling?
As for the help screen, that only means they checked in the change to the version number, not that it officially is that version.

i always thought that each major upgrade such as version 2 and above would be cut from trunk. i.e. the branch build that leads into 1.0 now would only be used for the development of 1.x builds.

I bet 263844 is a result of that security tab spoof checkin.

OSX build for 10/27 doesn’t unpack for me (I’ve downloaded five times since about 3:30 am Pacific time — no, I’m not a FF addict, I’m a Saturn addict). One other person has reported the same problem in official forums. Anyone get it working?

10/27 OSX build isn’t recognized by Stuffit Expander, nor by
gunzip: /Users/hank/Desktop/firefox-1.0.en-US.mac.dmg.gz: not in gzip format

The problems with printing a pdf files has been around for a while, at least for me (since at least PR was released). The printer tray icon will appear but nothing will actually print.
Using the same document in IE works.
