2005-10-19 Branch builds

New stuff:

  • Fixed: 312392 - Bump Firefox / Thunderbird version on Mozilla 1.8 branch to 1.5. (Note: extension developers should set the maxVersion to 1.5.0.*, not 1.5.)

Fixes:

  • Fixed: 245392 - Installer options for shortcuts don't work (update/install adds unwanted icons to desktop/quick launch, creates empty folder in start menu).
  • Fixed: 310825 - window.focus() in a background tab can steal focus from foreground tab.
  • Fixed: 195443 - xmlrpc broken stream closed pre-maturely.
  • Fixed: 292962 - Need to sort out policy on DOM access in cached documents. (Partial fix for the branch.)
  • Fixed: 290190 - Crash when network connection drops and reconnects.
  • Fixed: 312569 - nsIVersionComparator is still broken in some circumstances.
  • Fixed: 297607 - [Mac] Change user agent string for Intel-based Macs.

Fixes for regressions:

  • Fixed: 312847 - Message list in Gmail is missing after pressing "Archive" button due to a typo in the fix for bug 312695.
  • Fixed: 312510 - Win32 installer download size > 5MB. (The fix was to make the broken website reporter tool be part of the browser instead of an extension.)
  • Fixed: 312769 - Webshell leak when closing any page with meta refresh.

No known major regressions.

Freaked out a bit there……installed latest branch build and lost most of my extensions (not compatible). Downgraded to 2005-10-18 Branch build and found that my extensions not automaticaly where turned back on. But didnt take me to long to find the right click extension an ”enable” option…..pfew……..almost had a hartattack there….suprisingly few extensions that worked……even my beloved TBE was disabled……..hmm.anyway…..very nice work…..keep em comming…..

when entering on those pages, the title of the prompt windows (for loggin) are “prompt”. Is it normal ?

Is there actually a reason to do this, considering https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=303718

  5. Jesse Ruderman Says:

    Moktoipas, I don’t know if it’s normal, but it’s wrong. I filed https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=313101.

  6. Jesse Ruderman Says:

Anonymous, I don’t understand your question. Those features seem to complement each other well rather than being redundant with each other.

  7. Anonymous Says:

Wouldn’t this feature cause the value in install.rdf to be irrelevant since EM would allways check update.rdf for the correct value?

  8. Jesse Ruderman Says:

Anonymous, update.rdf will only be different from install.rdf if the extension author goes into AMO and changes it. Having maxVersion start at 1.5.0.* is correct most of the time and keeps authors from having to make changes for security releases, while making it possible to disable an extension in the rare event that a security release breaks an extension.

Jesse Ruderman >> OK thanks ^^

This is very strange (and doesn’t work on FX 1.0.7 too)

i think there a two bugs:
-the a:hover resize de div width some CSS atributes (like -moz-opacity or border)
-the -moz-opacity doesn’t draw the image in the good place.

(if the table doesn’t not resize on hover, try with another size of font)
