Art vs porn
Mom: Why do people look at porn?
Me: That's hard to explain. Why do people play video games, or watch sunsets?
Mom: I don't know why people like video games, but sunsets are beautiful and natural.
Me: Naked women are beautiful and natural.
My mom is always asking me to stop mentioning porn on my blog, saying it might drive away potential girlfriends. But on Christmas, she almost encouraged me to hang one of Diana Kos's nude paintings in my apartment. I'm so confused that I don't even know whether to mark that link as NSFW.

It’s not so much that there is a difference between Artistic Nudity and porn. All it comes down to is the intent of the individual showing the piece. Most porn is about trying to instill a base and raw emotion towards the act of sex. Whereas the artistic nudity is focused more on the senuality of the human body interacting with its surroundings. I have seen just about every type of porn that there is out there and I have seen my fair share of art nudes as well, side by side, the difference is distinct.

I guess for art you would ask the question “What was the artist trying to communicate”. With porn the question would be “Is that possible?”
